Glenn Mackno to Assume Role as Interim Athletic Director at Warde

Glenn Mackno, who recently retired in June as the long-time principal at Roger Ludlowe Middle School in Fairfield, is returning "home" to assume the role as interim athletic director at Fairfield Warde High School Monday, October 21, 2013.

Mackno, who graduated from Andrew Warde High School in 1973, takes over for Chris Manfredonia, who will become the AD at Darien High School. Mackno was a standout performer on the Crimson Eagles' 1972-73 FCIAC East Division championship basketball team.

Mackno started the freshman girls' volleyball program at Warde and coached all three levels of girls' volleyball --- freshman, junior varsity, and varsity. He also coached boys' junior varsity basketball and freshman girls' basketball for the Crimson Eagles.

Mackno's teammate on the 1973 basketball team, Dave Schulz, is the athletic director at Fairfield Ludlowe High School and was inducted into the FCIAC Hall of Fame. Schulz and Mackno are pictured below holding the FCIAC East Division championship trophy for Andrew Warde High School in 1973.
