Although Warde has won the last two Thanksgiving Day matchups against Ludlowe and the game is being played on the Mustangs' home gridiron, Ludlowe is the likely favorite to win the game. The Falcons have posted three consecutive wins, including last week's thrilling 21-20 overtime victory at home against Norwalk. The Falcons took the lead in the extra session with a touchdown and extra point, but Norwalk came up short in its two-point conversion bid following its touchdown run. Watch the dramatic ending.
I was the public address announcer in the background of the highlights above and for all of Ludlowe's home games this season. It was a pleasure to announce the Falcons' five games at Taft Field. Call it sacrilege, but I'll be sitting on the Ludlowe side of the field tomorrow morning wearing my Falcons' blue-and-white sweatshirt. Head Coach Matt McCloskey taught my elder son at Ludlowe, and he is a good friend of mine. He and athletic director Dave Schulz asked me to announce the football games this year.
